We are seeking to appoint a part-time (80% FTE) Deputy Programme Director to lead our Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner (MHWP) training programme. You will be either a BABCP accredited CBT Therapist, NMC registered Mental Health Nurse, or, a Social Work England registered Social Worker (with experience of Adult Mental Health). The successful applicant will work closely with the Programme Director responsible for the CBT academic profile and the Head of Department/School for the School of Psychology and Social Work, in the Faculty of Health Sciences. You will join a forward thinking and enthusiastic team to deliver first-class professional training to postgraduate trainees to develop key competencies in the Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner role as well supporting health care practitioners in post registration training.  The post holder will have a good degree in a relevant discipline.  You will lead the programme and team, and require extensive knowledge and understanding of postgraduate level training.  You will have experience of working in a Higher Education Institution, and demonstrate excellent leadership and team working skills. This post is an excellent opportunity for career development for a clinician with CBT training, skills and experience of working with Serious Mental Health Problems, particularly in, but not restricted to, Psychosis and Bipolar.

The successful applicant will be based in the School of Psychology and Social Work in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Faculty is vibrant and interdisciplinary delivering high quality teaching and research in Social Work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Psychology, Dementia, Nursing and wide range of allied health disciplines. Together our researchers address a wide variety of nationally and internationally relevant topics such as dementia; addictions and substance misuse; long-term health conditions; adult and adolescent mental health; suicide prevention and postvention; health inequalities; homelessness; death, dying and bereavement; safeguarding children and adults; domestic abuse and service implementation, delivery and evaluation. Research in the Faculty is organised around research clusters these include Social and Psychological Research into Long Term Conditions (SPARC) and Psychology of Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing.
