The University of Hull is operating in an increasingly complex, challenging and competitive environment, with further major change on the horizon.  Our recently-launched bold and ambitious Strategic Plan (2016-2020) will steer the institution through this period of change whilst driving growth and delivering a step-change in performance.

Research & Enterprise has been a key part of the University’s mission statement since it was founded in 1927, and we are aiming to significantly increase our level of Research & Enterprise-related activities, outputs and impact during the 2016-2020 plan period.

We are now investing significant resource to support our research performance, driving excellence, securing external funding and maximising the impact our research has on the world. This includes the appointment of four new Research Development Managers (RDMs), supporting the new faculty structure at the University.

The Research Development Managers will be part of a new strategic team, tasked with driving high quality and high value external funding applications with researchers across the University.  These key staff will develop and facilitate strategic relationships with major funding bodies and partner organisations nationally and internationally, and optimise inter and intra-Faculty approaches to winning funds and responding to opportunities.

As the Research Development Manager for Science and Engineering, you will bring a strong understanding of the funders and their schemes relevant to the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and our Energy and Environment Institute.  You will have extensive experience of supporting large, collaborative bids to funders such as NERC, EPSRC and Innovate UK.

This an exciting time to join a growing central team, playing a key role in supporting the transformation of our research capability at the University of Hull.
