An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Hull York Medical School (HYMS) as the School’s Executive Officer. The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced administrator looking to move into a management role.

It will provide a wide-ranging experience of working in a medical school across two Universities and NHS partners and an opportunity to contribute at the highest level to all aspects of the School alongside the Dean, Chief Operating Officer and the School’s Management Board.  HYMS is undergoing a period of transformation and you will have an opportunity to really make your mark, through the management of a variety of defined projects and change initiatives. You will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the School’s business, working in partnership with a range of University and NHS contacts, with an emphasis on HR.

You must be able to demonstrate your ability to provide high-level executive support in a pressured environment. The post demands a flexible approach to work, strong organisational and decision-making skills and the ability to build successful and productive relationships at all levels across the University and NHS. You will also lead a small Executive Office team. The role will be predominantly based in HYMS at either Hull or York, but with an expectation of travel to the other campus for one day a week by agreement, together with occasional travel to the School’s NHS partners.
