The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to the staff on a 5-year Yorkshire Cancer Research Endowment Project. The post holder will be expected to liaise with a wide range of colleagues including staff based in York as well as Hull. Liaison with the NHS and other healthcare providers will also be required and the role may require occasional travel between Hull and York.

This post is based within the SEDA (Supportive Care, Early Diagnosis and Advanced disease) Research Group in Hull, which is part of the HYMS Centre for Health and Population Sciences (CHaPS). The post will be based in the Allam Medical Building on the Hull Campus.

Key duties include:

• Administrative support for specific projects within the programme.

• Co-ordination of all purchases (equipment, travel) and compliance with the relevant Finance regulations.

• Organisation of meetings, teleconferences, video conferences and associated recording of actions.

• Monitoring of all budgets, including monitoring of expenditure against research awards.

• Co-ordinating the programme related events e.g. away days and seminars.

• Co-ordinating web-site maintenance and updating of website content for the programme.

As part of a professional research team the role requires knowledge and experience of the standard office packages, as well as enthusiasm and flexibility to contribute to a demanding workload and the need to be able to react to the changing requirements of this varied role. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team would be advantageous.

Evidence of substantial experience working within a senior administrative role within a health related or academic office environment is essential.
