This exciting post is available as part of a University of Hull funded Scholarship Cluster created within the palliative and primary care programmes of research undertaken by the Supportive care, Early Diagnosis, and Advanced disease (SEDA) research group at the University of Hull.

This post is part of a larger Scholarship Cluster project, (including this Band 6 Research Assistant post and 4 PhD studentships). The overall cluster project is focused on identifying symptoms and palliative needs in long-term conditions, multi-morbidity and frailty within primary care.

The Band 6 Assistant will work with a range of GP practices across the CLAHRC Yorkshire & Humber region to identify those with multi-morbidity and frailty within partner practices. They will apply measures such as the electronic Frailty Index, the validated Integrated Palliative Care Outcome Scale (IPOS), the Needs Assessment–Progressive Disease (NAT-PD), and other measures, to identify and assess symptoms and palliative care needs more fully. The purpose is to develop a screening system to identify symptoms and other palliative needs in primary care, and there will be excellent opportunities to develop new bids.

This provides an excellent opportunity to join an expanding research group which is developing excellent in applied health research across the primary care and palliative care boundaries.
