The role of this NIHR Clinical Lecturer will be to carry out teaching and research whilst undergoing combined academic and clinical training leading towards a career in Cardiology. Candidates should have a proven commitment to research and teaching. The person appointed will be allocated an Academic National Training Number (NTNa). Clinical training will be provided within a range of placements approved for Specialty Training in preparation for the award of the Certificate of Completed Training (CCT). Candidates must be fully registered medical practitioners with appropriate relevant professional exam. Candidates are to note that a post cannot be offered until MD or PhD thesis corrections are approved. This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a maximum period of four years, or until the award of a CCT.

Salary for this post will be at the clinical scale, depending on qualifications and experience. 


The successful candidates will undertake 50% of WTE academic work within the relevant academic speciality.  It is a condition of these posts that satisfactory enhanced disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

The Postgraduate Dean confirms that this placement/programme has the required educational and Dean's approval.

All candidates will need to hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. 

The contract will be with the University of Hull.
