Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching

Hull York Medical School is looking for practicing clinicians who are passionate about educating the doctors and healthcare professionals of the future.

A number of opportunities have arisen within the School for Clinical Educational Facilitators (7 posts), Tutors (3 posts) and Senior Tutors (2 posts).   These roles form a vital part of the undergraduate MB BS, MB BS with Gateway and postgraduate Physicians Associate Programmes.

As well as an enthusiasm for teaching and developing skills in our students, we are looking for clinicians who will inspire students to achieve their best, both academically and professionally, providing strong role models for their subsequent development. Successful applicants will be keen to develop their educational role; many will not already have experience of PBL or higher educational qualifications, but we welcome applications from those who are willing to undertake these.

Clinical Educational Tutor roles build on the Facilitator role, involving a more substantial commitment to the School’s work. This may include work within the Student Support Team, contributions to the development and delivery of MBBS, Physician Associate or Health Professions Education Programme.  (3 years, hours ranging from 0.3 – 0.4 FTE).

Applicants for Clinical Educational Tutor roles will need to commit to a minimum of four, fixed, 4-hour teaching sessions per week, for PBL/Clinical Skills facilitation during the academic term and will be based at either the Hull or the York site. The majority of these roles are based at the Hull site. We expect all applicants to commit to all dates within the academic terms. Additionally, successful applicants will be expected to contribute approximately 2.5 hours per week for preparatory work, paid for within the contract and a minimum of 6 days per year involvement in assessment and admissions activities. Clinical Educational Tutor roles will need to commit to more sessions accordingly.

This post is being advertised in conjunction with the following posts:
