Undergraduate and Postgraduate Teaching

Hull York Medical School is looking for practicing clinicians who are passionate about educating the doctors and healthcare professionals of the future.

A number of opportunities have arisen within the School for Clinical Educational Facilitators (7 posts), Tutors (3 posts) and Senior Tutors (2 posts).   These roles form a vital part of the undergraduate MB BS, MB BS with Gateway and postgraduate Physicians Associate Programmes.

As well as an enthusiasm for teaching and developing skills in our students, we are looking for clinicians who will inspire students to achieve their best, both academically and professionally, providing strong role models for their subsequent development. Successful applicants will be keen to develop their educational role; many will not already have experience of PBL or higher educational qualifications, but we welcome applications from those who are willing to undertake these.

Senior Clinical Educational Tutor roles build on the Tutor role by incorporating leadership and management responsibilities together with encouraging and supporting the post holder to develop their own scholarship. Specific roles at this level include Senior Clinical Tutor for the MBBS Gateway year and Deputy Director of Problem Based Learning. Successful applicants for Senior Clinical Educational Tutor roles will have a proven record of accomplishment and experience within medical education and will already hold a qualification in Medical Education.  (3 years, hours ranging from 0.4 – 0.5 FTE)

We expect all applicants to commit to all dates within the academic terms. Additionally, successful applicants will be expected to contribute approximately 2.5 hours per week for preparatory work, paid for within the contract and a minimum of 3 days per year involvement in assessment and admissions activities. Senior Clinical Educational Tutor roles will need to commit to more sessions accordingly.

This post is being advertised in conjunction with the following posts:
