This post is 80% FTE, fixed term for one year.

This exciting post is available as part of the PACE project funded by the Hull Clinical Commissioning Group. It is based within the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre, in Hull York Medical School at the University of Hull.

The Proactive Anticipatory Care Evaluation (PACE) project is working to inform service re-design for a novel Integrated Care Service for older frail people in Hull. The project is already established; this is a replacement post.

The Band 6 Research Associate will work with our established collaborators in clinical services and GP practices within Hull to undertake interviews with patients, families and professionals, and to conduct a survey with patients/families following admission into care homes, and to analyse, write up and report findings.

This provides a great opportunity to join an expanding palliative care research group which is developing excellence in clinical and applied health research in palliative and end of life care. The Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre is one of only a few centres for palliative care research in the UK. The Centre brings together researchers, health and social care professionals from a range of disciplines, patients, families and members of the public to find and help deliver the best palliative care services and treatments. We conduct palliative care research, and aim to improve quality of life, wellbeing, and reduce inequalities in care. We are committed to involving patients, carers, families and local communities as active partners in shaping our research.

The post holder will have research expertise in a discipline relevant to primary care, palliative care, or a closely related area such as applied health research with older people. He/she will demonstrate a commitment to the pursuit of excellence in research, enthusiasm for this area of research, and be completing or have completed a PhD in a relevant subject.
