This is fixed term post until 31-3-23, 0.4 FTE (13.43 hrs).  The post will be based within the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre, which is part of Hull York Medical School, within the Faculty of Health Sciences at University of Hull and based on the University of Hull campus. The post may involve occasional travel within Yorkshire and to national meetings, but will be based in Hull. The overall aim of the Wolfson Palliative Care Research Centre is to generate new knowledge systematically in palliative and end of life care. 

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the CANASSES study. CANAssess is a 54 GP practice trial funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research, led by Chief Investigator Prof. Miriam Johnson at the University of Hull, conducted by the Leeds Clinical Trials Research Unit (Leeds CTRU), and in collaboration with researchers across Leeds, Sheffield, Sunderland and Northumbria Universities.

The post-holder will have administrative experience and some knowledge of or experience working within an academic or NHS environment. Key duties of the role will include: 

  • Co-ordinating meetings and events with general practices across Yorkshire
  • Transcription of interviews
  • Arranging travel and other supporting other activities of the research team
