The Hull York Medical School is looking for practicing clinicians who are passionate about educating the doctors and healthcare professionals of the future.

A number of opportunities have arisen within the School for Clinical Educational Facilitators.  These roles form a vital part of the undergraduate MB BS programme.

As well as an enthusiasm for teaching and developing skills in our students, we are looking for clinicians who will inspire students to achieve their best, both academically and professionally, providing strong role models for their subsequent development.  Successful applicants will be keen to develop their educational role; many will not already have experience of Problem Based Learning (PBL) or higher educational qualifications, but we welcome applications from those who are willing to undertake these.

Clinical Educational Facilitator roles are supported with tutoring and student support activities through continued professional development.  There is a robust programme of training, peer support and observation, given in both PBL facilitation and clinical skills teaching. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to assessment and admissions processes as part of their role.

Applicants for Clinical Educational Facilitator roles will need to commit to a minimum of two, fixed, 4-hour teaching sessions per week in one of the slots described above for PBL/Clinical Skills facilitation during the academic term and will be based at either the Hull or the York site.  We expect all applicants to commit to all dates within the academic terms. Additionally, successful applicants will be expected to contribute approximately 2.5 hours per week for preparatory work, paid for within the contract and a minimum of 3 days per year involvement in assessment and admissions activities.

The overall annualised commitment for the roles available will be 0.185 FTE.
