Trainee Careers Adviser 

 

2 Year Level 7 Apprenticeship in Careers Advice & Guidance 

 

In order to meet apprenticeship enrolment deadlines, you will need to be available to start in post by the 15th January 2025 and be available for interview week commencing 16th December. 

 

The Careers Service at the University of Hull is looking for a new member of the team! We are keen to hear from candidates that are committed to supporting our students and graduates to achieve their career potential.  

 

You will need to be an exceptional communicator and listener and possess the ability to build relationships with students and graduates from a diverse range of backgrounds. You will work with students and graduates in one-to-one, as well as in small and large groups. With a genuine interest in careers education and employability you will need to be creative and innovative and willing to try new things to engage our students.  

 

This is a new post, initially funded for two years and provides an exciting opportunity for an unqualified candidate to join the team and undertake training and a professional qualification via a Career Development Professional Apprenticeship.  

 

As a trainee the postholder is not expected to have existing experience in careers information advice and guidance but will develop knowledge and professional practice in the role. 

 

Required:  

Relevant Degree

Level 2 in Maths and English  

Able to demonstrate an understanding of issues relating to employability within higher education. 

  

Desirable: Some experience in the provision of information, advice and support - ideally within an educational context. 

 

Applicants with existing qualifications in Careers Advice and Guidance will be considered but qualifications would need to be Level 4 or below. Any offers of employment would be subject to the post holder qualifying for apprenticeship funding rules.
